“Light a fire under me. Tell me I can’t do it, and I’ll prove you wrong.”
A Calling Steeped in Tradition
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it, The Alchemist by
Paulo Coelho. This proverb rings true for Biswajit Tripathy, a man whose path took an unexpected turn,
leading him from the corporate world to the enchanted realm of tea.
For almost three decades, Biswajit climbed the corporate ladder, building a successful career. On the
On the surface, Biswajit Tripathy’s life seemed picture-perfect. A 1990 computer science graduate, he had a
thriving career, and a wonderful family – the very definition of success. But a yearning for something
more lingered, a feeling of emptiness that achievements couldn’t quite fill. Then, in 2000, on a trip to
Vijayawada, a chance encounter at a tea stall sparked a life-altering conversation. It was as if fate
intervened, igniting a passion he never knew existed. This unexpected connection became the missing
piece he’d been yearning for, a revelation that would change the course of his life.
My journey into tea began unexpectedly. A Life Unfolding, A Dream Realized
Life has a way of surprising us. We chase ambitions, face challenges, and sometimes, serendipity takes
the wheel. In 2017, after the loss of his father, Biswajit returned home. This unexpected homecoming
paved the way for a new chapter, a journey into the world of tea.
Brewing Success: A Blend of Passion and Perseverance
Building a business is no easy feat. While Biswajit’s journey wasn’t without its challenges, the rewards
of pursuing a dream far outweighed the difficulƟes. Returning to his hometown presented a unique
set of hurdles – sourcing high-quality ingredients, building a team, and perfecting his tea blends. It was
a continuous learning curve.
From Steeped Challenges to Shared Wisdom
The path wasn’t always smooth sailing. Some encounters offered valuable lessons – oŌen by
highlighƟng what not to do – while others inspired him with their commitment to ethical pracƟces.
This journey led Biswajit to discover a community of fellow entrepreneurs facing similar challenges.
This sparked a passion for mentorship. He actively participated in and even developed and joined
communities where aspiring entrepreneurs could share experiences, advice, and support.
Beyond the Teacup: A Multifaceted Creative
Biswajit’s creative spirit extends far beyond the world of tea. His love for storytelling began in his youth,
with his words finding a home in magazines and newspapers. Today, he continues to write for the joy
of it, exploring genres like movie and gadget reviews, poetry, and even co-creating a unique concept –
India’s first collaborative novel, “The Day I Died,” written by eight authors across India and compiled
into a single story. You can find it on Amazon, and I highly recommend checking it out – the
collaborative approach is truly innovative and relatable to a wide audience.
Photography also holds a special place in his life, a passion ignited by a thoughtful gift from his sister.
From his early point-and-shoot days to capturing award-winning images with a DSLR, his visual
storytelling journey continues to flourish.
For Biswajit, art is a universal language. It allows us to appreciate beauty, express emotions, and
connect with the human experience. This appreciation for creativity manifests in various forms –
illustrations, paintings, written words – each adding a unique layer to his life.

From casual hobby to profound passion: the journey of ‘Chai ka DOCTOR
During a business trip to Gurgaon while working for my former company, an unexpected introduction
at an evening event left me pleasantly surprised. I was dubbed “Mr. Biswajit Tripathy, Chai ka Doctor!”
by a guest whom I had previously assisted with my tea expertise, despite not actively selling it at the
time. This playful yet profound moment triggered a revelation within me: my fascination with tea transcended mere hobbyism, evolving into a profound passion with profound roots. Fueled by this
newfound purpose, I delved deeper into the art of tea blending. Through research and by finding a
generous mentor, I honed my skills. Finally, on a momentous day – April 6th, 2024 – I achieved a
significant milestone: receiving my doctorate from Dr. T P Sashi Kumar, a former Deputy Director of the
PMO and a respected space scientist.
The Future Brews Bright
Teasana’s story is far from over. With a dedication to quality, innovation, and personalized care, they
are poised for continued growth. So, the next time you savor a cup of tea, remember the story behind
it – a tale of passion, perseverance, and a journey that unfolded one delicious cup at a time.
