The Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a series of health infrastructure projects worth Rs 1140 crore via video conferencing on Thursday.
The Chief Minister unveiled 103 projects completed at a cost of Rs 140 crore while also laying the foundation stones for 372 upcoming projects valued at Rs 1000 crore, spread across the state.
During his session Hon’ble Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted the transformative impact of the 5T initiatives in enhancing government hospital services. Emphasizing the heightened trust in the government’s healthcare system, he credited these initiatives for instilling greater confidence among the populace.
Patnaik also commended the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) for its role in delivering free and improved healthcare services to the people, with over 1 lakh beneficiaries monthly. He underscored the government’s unwavering dedication to providing superior healthcare.
Expressing aspirations for Odisha to set a benchmark in healthcare, the Chief Minister stressed the significance of the newly launched projects in advancing health infrastructure. The overarching goal remains the creation of a ‘Sustha Odisha Sukhi Odisha’ (Healthy Odisha, Happy Odisha).
Highlighting a substantial investment of Rs 12,000 crores over the past five years in health infrastructure development, Patnaik emphasized the commitment to elevate primary health, community health, and district health services statewide.During the event, the Chief Minister introduced a dedicated helpline, 1800 120 120 104, specifically catering to Odia individuals residing outside the state, under the BSKY.
Health Minister Niranjan Pujari, present at the program, acknowledged the significant strides witnessed in the healthcare sector over the last two decades under the Chief Minister’s leadership and guidance. The event was moderated by 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian.
The ceremony was attended by Health Secretary Shalini Pandit, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Principal Secretaries & Secretaries of different departments and other Officials also in this session.
