As there has been a significant increase in plastic and air pollution across the globe, some alternative
ways had to be taken up for the daily utility products used by people. More than 14 million tons of
plastic products gathered in the ocean, which caused the death of marine animals and indirectly
affecting human beings by means of microplastics. And more than 25 million tons of crop residue
were burned each year, which caused drastic air pollution through which carcinogenic problems are
happening. These problems are being continued as well. Keeping in mind these factors, Eco Saathi has started brainstorming and doing R&D for the solution part. In this way, Eco Saathi has come up with a solution of making sustainable daily utility products for its lovable consumers, which will be completely
decomposed in the soil. Through this initiative, Eco Saathi planned to engage local artisans and farmers
from various states so as to make their lifestyle better. They have travelled around 10,000 KM for
meeting with our local artisans. Currently, having around local artisans in 4 states, such as Odisha, Tripura,
Assam, and Meghalaya. In addition to combating Climate Change, they are also creating a livelihood
mission as well through their initiative.
Currently, Eco Saathi is dealing with a variety of sustainable products. We provide our products online
and offline mode. They take orders on their own e-commerce platform and Instagram as well. Eco Saathi
dispatches the products to all states and union territories of India. Offline, they tie up with different
supermarkets, pharmaceutical stores, and hotels as well to provide their products.
“We are feeling happy with the response of people to our products these days. However, there was a reluctance before 2 years in the Odisha market, especially. Later on, the reluctancy has diminished slowly, keeping in mind the environmental aspects. We are also providing our products to different corporations for sustainable gifting purposes. In these channels, we deal with our eco-friendly products. We are also in line with the LIFE (Lifestyle for Environment) Movement as started by the Government of India”, says the founder, Ajit Pallai.
He adds, “As the world is changing and climate change is the biggest problem, we want to create an ecosystem where various eco-friendly products will be available for consumers. Therefore, we want to create a world free from single-use plastics and other plastics as well. We will be able to engage more
and more local artisans, like around 1,000 local artisans and 50,000 farmers, by 2025 across India. The
most significant aspect for us is reducing our carbon footprint and, in turn, protecting our
environment from getting polluted. We will be able to save 10,000 Tons of CO2 by 2025 by using the
sustainable products”.
