We are the privileged beings to be gifted with the Gift of the Gag. We can express our emotions, opinions our thoughts via the medium of speech. Yet some of us struggle with the correct way of communication. At times our choice of words does not match our thoughts or our tone is not in sync with our words. Are you one of these too? So, Lets understand how we can make this better.
First and foremost is the clarity of thoughts, we need to be clear in what we want to convey. Our understanding of thoughts, a clear vision helps in putting forward our views clearly. It also helps in clearing any doubts or queries the other person has.
Secondly, the reason or the need to communication? is it for a purpose or just casual? There will be a difference in the way you share a business idea with a friend and in the manner, you share it with a suitable collaborator.
Thirdly, whom do we want to convey? Our audience matters a lot. Because on that depends our tone, how much formal should we be? Can we intonate? or we can use a friendly tone depends whom we are addressing.
Lastly is the choice of words. We should be very particular in choosing the correct words as that might make or break the entire conversation. Our words can be like swords that pierce someone’s soul or they can be like butter , smooth and flattering.
So, remember: Communicate to leave and impact and build relations.
